Your Members’ Best Interest is What We Do Best.
We know that it’s never easy to talk about, but we’re here to make it as easy as possible. Members Trust Company offers the following services to support you, your members, and to ensure their financial legacies thrive.
Estate Services at Your Service
If a member passes away with or without a will, their loved ones may be forced to submit to probate—the court-supervised process tasked with ensuring their assets get into the hands of the correct people; either to the beneficiaries they’ve identified in their will, or to heirs as determined by state law. You can spare them the complexities of this process by designating Members Trust Company as executor or personal representative to administer and settle their estate, ensuring the smooth transfer of your hard-earned assets.
Agent for Trustee
Serving as an individual trustee is time-consuming and can be overwhelming, particularly when dealing with the loss of a loved one. Designating Members Trust Company as Agent can reduce a member’s burden, so that he or she is not alone in navigating legally complex details or initiating difficult family conversations.
Attorney in Fact
For members who have no children or children located in distant places, Members Trust Company can serve as their financial power of attorney to manage affairs if they are no longer able to do so, protecting them against the potential for elder abuse and providing peace of mind for their loved ones.
If you have a member who is no longer able to manage his or her own finances, the court must get involved to appoint a guardian or conservator to act on his or her behalf. Members Trust Company can fill this role to manage finances and care, as well as family dynamics.
